Respect the results and America will always be great

I have great respect for the University Democrats accepting Trump’s presidency in the last issue’s article, as that is something many individuals are currently unwilling to do. With the hashtag “not my president” on Facebook and Twitter, and riots in the streets over Trumps’ presidency, it is a breath of fresh air to see the BU Dems accepting his presidency, regardless of how displeased they may be with the results.

What is unfortunate though is that Trump won the election fair and square, yet protests are occurring all over America, college students are having classes canceled and are running off to their safe spaces, and talk of how Hillary can still win is flooding social media. The sixth stage of grief is acceptance, and Americans who are denying that Trump will be our next President need to move on from stage five by January.

While the Dems do accept Trump’s presidency, they build a dismal picture of Trump’s America, hinting that women, LGBTQA, and religious rights will be rolled back. They even claim that we have made it through some “horrific time periods” and therefore we will prevail through Trump’s presidency as well.

I don’t think we will have to “prevail” or suffer through anything. I truly believe Donald Trump will be an excellent president, even if the only reason is to prove every protestor or crybaby who is fighting the election wrong.

Trump will not do what individuals are claiming he will. Trump has no interest in rolling back marriage equality- he has shown his support of LGBTQA rights by actions such as holding up a gay pride flag during his rallies (“Donald Trump holds high the flag for gay equality,” Washington Times). While he may be pro-life, it is unlikely that Roe vs. Wade will be overturned during his presidency, and on issues such as paid maternity leave he has showed his compassion for fighting for women (“Paid Family Leave Could Be a Reality in Trump’s America,” Time). And while Donald Trump will fight against radical Islamic terrorism, limiting the rights of everyday Muslims is not part of Donald Trump’s plan, which is clear to anyone who listens to his speeches and interviews rather than determines their opinions on Trump based on social media.

Trump has already taken many steps which show what type of president he will be. Trump and President Obama had an excellent meeting where they both showed cooperation skills and the ability to talk while putting differences aside. Trump stated he would not accept the presidential salary, as always showing he is not in this for himself (“Trump: No ‘big’ vacations, no salary as president,” USA Today). He has told any supports who are acting in a bigoted, sexist, or Islamophobic way to stop (“Trump to supporters harassing minorities: Stop it,” CNN). He is already fighting for the people, even while the people are fighting against him.

Though it may be hard for many to accept, Donald Trump will be our next president. Americans need to unite and stop trying to fight the system;  whether they like it or not, Trump won fair and square. The rioting, the burning of flags, and the harassment of Trump supporters needs to stop. On the same token, any Trump supporter harassing minorities needs to cease these despicable behaviors as well. We need to come together, and give our president-elect a chance. Hoping for him to fail is hoping for American to fail.

God bless America, God Bless our next President Donald Trump. Let’s Make America Great Again.

Vote Toomey for US Senate

You log onto YouTube to watch Grumpy Cat or listen to “Closer” by Chainsmokers. You likely will be assaulted with a political add first, and there is an excellent chance that add will focus on either Katie McGinty or Pat Toomey, two candidates for the US Senate. While both candidates seem to be accusing each other of the same downfalls- catering to Wall Street while neglecting to fight for the everyday Pennsylvanian- there are specific, unbiased reasons why all voters should consider voting for Pat Toomey.
For one, Toomey will fight for PA jobs. He has already worked tirelessly to fight for PA workers, and he will not quit when re-elected. For example, Toomey engaged in bipartisan work to create the JOBS Act, a law which helped up and coming businesses break free from regulations that were harming PA growth. Toomey has also fought against EPA over-regulation that has suffocated PA coal miners under overbearing regulations.
In the same spirit of protecting a family’s income, Toomey has fought to protect taxpayers. He supports closing special-interest loopholes and lowering tax rates for all Americans, letting you keep more of the money you make. A crucial part of lowering taxes is decreasing how much money the government spends, as the more money they waste the more money they need. Toomey has fought against earmarks which allows senators and congressmen to benefit their home states on national dimes, with “pork” projects such as the $693,000 spent on beef improvement research in Missouri and Texas being a horrible display of wasted money. Toomey has helped to cut down on this reckless spending to fight for our interests and pocketbooks.
Another area where Toomey fights to protect Pennsylvanians is by working to end sanctuary cities, municipalities where politicians prohibit local law enforcement officers from working with federal immigration officers. Violent criminals are allowed back on the street so they are not deported. Recently, a criminal released from custody under Philadelphia’s sanctuary policy was re-arrested for raping a child- yet only one of the two candidates running for US Senate is against sanctuary cities.
Toomey also is very passionate about our veterans. In response to the scandal at the Department of Veteran Affairs, Toomey co-sponsored the Veterans' Access to Care through Choice, Accountability, and Transparency Act of 2014 to give veterans flexibility on where they receive medical care. The law also authorized an additional $10 billion to better veterans’ access to care. In addition, Pat sponsored legislation, which was then signed into law by President Obama, that made it easier for veterans to travel and visit national war memorials. He has fought for the men and women who have fought for us.
One interesting line of work Toomey has engaged in is efforts to combat Alzheimer’s disease. Toomey serves as the co-chairman of a group that is fighting effortlessly to bring awareness to Alzheimer’s disease. In addition, Toomey co-sponsored the Alzheimer’s Accountability Act which requires the National Institutes of Health to provide Congress the best estimate on funding needed to treat and prevent Alzheimer’s by 2025.
Overall, one of Toomey’s greatest strengths in his ability to reach across the aisle and work with democrats to find real solutions to real problems and support vulnerable groups in America. Breaking through political barriers and going past your party to work with politicians from the opposing side is a sign of patriotism and level-headedness, and a trait we should want in all our senators.
Toomey has been endorsed by many notable groups, a sign of how much respect he has earned. He has been endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Business, the Fraternal Order of Police, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce
If you are interested in learning more about Pat Toomey, please take a look at his website: https://www.toomeyforsenate.com/. The information in this article was compiled utilizing this site. You can learn more about what Toomey has done for PA and the country, and what he will continue to do. Please consider voting Pat Toomey on November 8th.

Trump Policy Crash Course

How many times have you read an article or watched a video that fairly covered Donald Trump’s policies? I would guess I could count the times on one hand. There is a very good reason for this I assure you. That reason is that Trump’s policies are the best since Reagan at least, they are strong, realistic, logical and achievable. When it comes to policy, even a half-wit could see that Trump is easily the better candidate; and liberals know this, so it is given no coverage. This election has been so wrought with media bias it has been sickening. In the next few hundred words, I will be condensing and summarizing the policy info found on www.donaldjtrump.com.
Taxes. Under Donald Trump you can expect your taxes to be 2 words: lowered and simplified. Trump seeks to lower taxes across the board to spur economic growth and business. He also seeks to simplify what is now an incredibly complicated system. Each year, we waste 8,000,000,000 hours on tax code compliance. That’s 8 billion, yes billion, hours. According to his plan, 7 tax brackets will become 3, with low-income Americans having an effective income tax rate of 0. I have a hard time figuring out how anyone could find an issue with lower, more simple taxes. This plan eliminates wasteful spending on tax compliance and makes taxes easier to understand for every American.
Regulation. As an extremely experienced businessman, Donald Trump knows that regulation kills business. Every year, over-regulation costs our economy 2,000,000,000,000 dollars. Yes, that is trillion this time. Since his inauguration, not my president Obama (the worst president in history for the economy) has instituted regulation after regulation that have cost the economy at least $100,000,000. Trump will ask every department head “to submit a list of every wasteful and unnecessary regulation which kills jobs, and which does not improve public safety, and eliminate them”. Trump will also immediately cancel “all illegal and overreaching executive orders”. Under this plan, business will again thrive in America, which in turn brings prosperity for people as well.
National Defense. America’s armed forces are the smallest they have been in 50 years. The Air Force is the smallest it has ever been. The “Army is the smallest it has been since World War II”. Trump plans to make our military strong again, increasing the size of all branches and increasing funding as well as cutting the extremely wasteful spending that runs rampant in the sector. New ships will be built for the U.S. Navy toward a goal of 350 vessels. The Air Force will be provided with the 1,200 fighter aircraft that they need, as the average age of our aircraft is 27 years. Our military is weak, and we need to be strong again.
Immigration. First and foremost, Trump WILL build a wall. If you are wondering, yes Mexico will pay for it. You can read the whole plan on Trump’s website. More importantly, Trump will put an end to sanctuary cities and begin actually deporting illegal immigrants. “Under a Trump administration, anyone who illegally crosses the border will be detained until they are removed out of our country.” Benefits will no longer be given to illegal immigrants and they will no longer come here because illegal immigration will be taken seriously and dealt with firmly.
Health Care. Donald Trump will repeal and replace Obamacare! President Obama said The Affordable Care Act (ACA) “would cut the cost of family premiums by up to $2,500 a year. Instead, premiums have gone up by almost $5,000 since Obamacare passed”. Donald Trump will repeal and replace! Because of the increase in costs, many “people are going without needed medical care because they can’t afford these amounts”. Over 50% of plans now have deductibles of $3,000 or more, and these will go up again in 2017. Trump will repeal and replace! Obamacare has been an absolute train wreck. Not one single American has benefitted. Premiums have skyrocketed, deductibles have often double or worse. The system may have been broken but Obamacare was not the answer, as we (conservatives) told you all the way back in 2009. The ACA has made the whole thing worse. Have you heard: Donald Trump will repeal and replace!

There are money other issues that Trump is strong on. He will fix our trade deals, spur the economy, reform our education system and take care of our veterans. You can read all of his policies in detail on his website www.donaldjtrump.com . Our country is making progress that’s for sure, but not the kind of progress that we want to make. Hillary Clinton is the embodiment of the politicians that are destroying America. America needs change now, in 2020 it may be too late. We need someone who is strong with policies, someone who is determined to Make America Great Again. America needs Donald J. Trump.

Why America Needs Trump

If you went past the title, then I want to take a moment to say thank you; not because you will listen to my opinions, but because you are one of the few people left who value not just the first amendment but more importantly the freedom of thought. That is a freedom that we Americans are slowly but surely losing. I want to approach this topic in what I see as the most straightforward way possible: directly addressing the 4 main groups of people who are, for whatever reason (in most cases general misinformation), anti-Trump, namely pseudo-Republicans, women, immigrants, and African Americans. If you hear me out, who knows, you just might agree that America needs Donald J. Trump (DJT).
Pseudo-Republicans. You belong to this category if: you are a registered Republican and are not voting for Trump. If Trump does not win this election, this group is far and away most at fault. Comprised of the likes of Paul Ryan and Glenn Beck these lifelong “Republicans” have abandoned their party’s candidate without second thought.  While almost any candidate would be better than Hillary, America needs real change. None of the other candidates would have brought it. DJT is the candidate that Republicans should have been waiting for since Ronald Reagan at least, I would argue even longer.
Women. You belong in this category if: you are a woman and/or your biggest problem with Trump are comments he may or may not have made about women. Has DJT said things he should not have? Certainly. But who among us could survive if subjected to the same scrutiny? I, for one, could not. Maybe DJT said mean things about women, but a vote for Hillary is a vote for massive increases in number of Muslim refugees the USA takes in. The same Muslims who live in countries where, literally according to their law, a woman’s testimony is worth half of a man’s. These refugees have raped women and children in every country they have been welcomed to. Maybe DJT at some point in his life said things that degraded women; but Hillary and Democrats are in favor of welcoming refugees who treat women like animals. Which is worse?
Immigrants. You belong to this category if: you are a legal immigrant or you find yourself appalled by the comments DJT may or may not have made regarding illegal immigrants. I say “may or may not have made” because Trump actually did not make the “racist” comments that the media and Democrats would like you to believe he did. The statement that Trump called “all illegal immigrants criminals and drug dealers” is completely false. The actual quote is that “some of them are criminals” which was even followed by the statement that “some of them I am sure are good people”. Here is the simple fact: illegal immigration hurts everyone. They come and they take jobs from hard working legal immigrants and others. Democrats give them our tax dollars in the form of food stamps, cell phones etc. Illegal immigration negatively affects every American, particularly legal immigrants: the ones who do it the right way. Maybe building a wall is not the solution, but sanctuary cities and doing a whole lot of nothing sure is not going to solve the problem either.
African-Americans. You belong to this category if: you feel for any reason that DJT is racist. What kind of amuses me is the fact that this claim about Trump is not backed by anything. At least the claim that Trump thinks all illegal immigrants are criminals is backed up by a quote, albeit an out of context one. There is no evidence to support the claim that DJT is racist towards African Americans. On the contrary, there is tons of evidence to show that Democrats make promises to help people of color (POC) in order to earn their votes and then proceed to do nothing for them. So the question I have for POC is this: what do you have to lose on a candidate like Trump? The first African American leader our country has ever had, (not my) president Obama, has set race relations back to the beginnings of the civil rights movement at least. Trump will bring Americans together, instead of dividing them by the color of their skin.

America needs DJT. Our country has been headed in the wrong direction for far too long; but hey at least we are making good time. DJT has been talking about running for president for almost 20 years. All of this has led to a man finally stepping up to do something he really would rather not do because he no longer believes that anyone else will do it. Not only that, this is a man who, by election end, will have spent more than $100,000,000 of his own money on his campaign. This man is a patriot, one the likes of which I know for sure I have never seen before. What kind of man would spend his own money to be publicly ridiculed, insulted, and humiliated all to fix a country full of people who seem incapable of uttering a sentence containiing his name without including at least one expletive? The answer: a great man. That great man is Donald J. Trump. Thank you for your time. Let’s make America great again.

Dangers of Hillary Clinton

In the past few months, voters have heard a plethora of negative accusations about Donald Trump, such as the points focused on in the Democrat’s article. Obviously, the infamous Billy Bush video and the TV ads paid for by the Clinton campaign do not picture him in the best light. However, the liberal news media still refuses to address the problems with his opponent, Hillary Clinton.
In my opinion, the shady and crooked antics of this woman are far more dangerous to our country than some “locker room talk” caught on a candid mic 11 years ago. If Hillary is elected, she might deceive the citizens of America and put us on the brink of war with Russia. Electing Hillary Clinton as president would be a terrible decision for our country.
The scariest fact about Hillary is her support of a U.S. controlled, no-fly zone over Syria. Hillary Clinton has been in support of taking control of Syria’s airspace for three years now, and the problem with this is that taking control of this airspace could mean going to war with Syria or Russia. The Marine Corps General, Joseph Francis Dunford, even said himself that a no fly zone would be a dangerous idea. Other people who are against this no-fly zone include but are not limited to, Barack Obama, Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump.
The worst part about this is that Hillary Clinton may have personal motives for wanting to go to war. Hillary has taken nearly $550,000 from defense industries that make money from the U.S. going to war (opensecrets.org). So to put it simply, it is possible that Hillary Clinton wants to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of lives just so that the people she took money from can get rich. She talks about saving Syrians when this war would kill so many more refugees and American soldiers than if we just left it alone.
It was revealed by WikiLeaks that Hillary Clinton has said every politician needs a public image and a private image. In public, Hillary says she wants to save the Syrian refugees but in a private speech she gave to Goldman Sachs, she admits that a no-fly zone would “kill a lot of Syrians.” Hillary doesn’t care about America, she just cares about her special interest groups.
We together can stop Hillary from creating a dangerous situation that could lead to war. All we have to do to stop her is go to the polls on Nov. 8th and vote anyone but Hillary Clinton. Please, make the right choice this election day.
